Long loading time

Hi there I know there is a post with the same name but I have a different problem...

whenever i join the Spacebuild : server 1 Garrys mod tends to download the same files everytime, you would have thought that it would not need to download the files once they have been downloaded the first time. But somehow It downloads the same files again as if I was joining for the first time... is this common or do you know how to fix this ?

This is a Garry's Mod issue, according to garry it will be fixed when the next update rolls out. For now, just disable your downloads in the options/multiplayer menu, as it will stop the game from downloading the broken bits. I remember seeing a temporary fix on the server side somewhere, but I lost the page and have no idea what it was.

The temporary fix is to uncompress EVERYTHING on the FastDL until the fix comes out. Until then, the clients will just not receive any of the bzipped files.
